Great leadership is developed through meaningful conversations, practical reflection, and real-world experience.

Profiling and Psychometrics
Understanding yourself and others is an essential ingredient of impactful leadership, team and personal effectiveness. Our coaches can use a range of profiling tools and psychometric reports, including Insights Discovery, EQi 2.0 for emotional intelligence and MTQ48 for personal resilience. These tools can underpin your 121 or team coaching sessions and provide meaningful insight into how to get from 'good' to 'great'.
Coachee Feedback
"Executive coaching really made me challenge the way that I approach my work… I was able to talk through some of the challenges that I held as a leader… think about the barriers and plan through what I was going to do and that really helped me then shape my approach and it's really brought a new dimension to some of the relationships I have which have delivered improved outcomes and improved relationships.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does coaching work?
Coaching is based on the fundamental principle that people are the experts in their own problems - this means that most people will generally have the knowledge, skills and expertise they need but are perhaps not able to access this.
When you work with a coach, they will ask you questions and encourage your reflections, which will help you to better understand your issue or opportunity, to explore the barriers and the possibilities and to devise solutions that could work for you.
For coaching to be successful, coachees need to take ownership of the problem and the potential solutions and be active in and in-between coaching sessions.

How does mentoring work?
Mentoring is based on a supportive relationship where you can learn from someone with relevant experience, insight and perspective. Your mentor will take time to understand your goals, context and development needs, and will use their own knowledge and experience to help you explore what could be useful.
When you work with a mentor, they may share ideas, experiences and practical approaches, while also asking questions that encourage you to reflect on your options and decide what is right for you. Mentoring can help you build confidence, develop new skills, navigate a role or transition, and learn from the experiences of others.
For mentoring to be successful, mentees need to take ownership of their development, be open to reflection and feedback, and actively put their learning into practice between sessions.
Who will be my coach or mentor?
We have a pool of experienced coaches and mentors that you could work with, depending on what you are looking for and who you feel you may work best with. When you decide to engage in coaching or mentoring, we can provide you with profiles for available coach/mentors and can arrange a 'chemistry call' with your preferred coach/mentor prior to starting the sessions.
All of our coaches and mentors hold their ilm coaching and mentoring qualification at either level 5 or level 7, and they are required to be active members of a professional coaching body. We also ensure that all coaches attend regular continuous professional development and that they sign up to the Global Code of Ethics for coaching.

What about confidentiality?
Confidentiality is crucial to building strong and trusted coaching relationships and we take this very seriously. At the start of your coaching or mentoring, we will provide you with an agreement which outlines our responsibilities around confidentiality.
All sessions are confidential, with any paper or electronic notes taken by the coach/mentor stored securely and nothing will be shared with anyone outside of that without your permission, unless there is reason to believe that there is risk to yourself or someone else that needs to be addressed.
If you are sponsored by your organisation, it may be a requirement for us to provide your company with some feedback but we will only ever share what has been agreed by you at the start of the process.

Where and when will the sessions take place?
We aim to be as flexible as we can with sessions and can provide a range of days and times for your coaching/mentoring. Sessions can be conducted in-person (travel permitting) and online (using video calls). How, when and where the sessions will take place can be agreed in your first session.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone is different and the challenges that we can explore in coaching/mentoring can vary, so there is no set amount of time that we would recommend. We do offer single sessions for when you have a small, acute problem to explore, as well as blocks for more transformative or complex work.
Most people find 4-6 sessions is about right, although some book a second block if they are working on more complex or multiple issues.

What can I expect from my first session?
In your first session, you might do some of the following, if you haven't already done so in the chemistry call:
- review and agree the coaching or mentoring agreement
- explore your reasons for seeking coaching/mentoring and your overarching goal
- explore what works best for you and what doesn't work
- start exploring what you are there for

How can I get the most out of the sessions?
Coaching and mentoring sessions are only going to be useful if you are actively engaged in the process, so how you prepare for and approach your sessions is important.
Make sure you come to the coaching or mentoring with an idea of what it is you want to learn, develop, explore, change or solve, or at least knowing what it is that you don't want to experience any more.
Be present in the session - switch off distractions and focus.
Take responsibility for the problem and the actions you decide to take.
Come to your next session ready to feedback and remember that you coach can only support you if you are open and honest.
