Coaching

Find solutions to your challenges and make the most of your opportunities with coaching

We all face challenges from time to time and without a clear way forward it can feel unmanageable and overwhelming.

Coaching provides a space to find that way forward and to set and realise your goals. Somewhere where you can try out ideas, gain new skills and find out more about yourself. Where you will find challenge but not judgement, and where your strengths are valued and your aspirations welcomed and encouraged.

Whether you are one person looking to make a difference, or a whole team looking to develop together, our coaching will always focus on getting you to where you want to be by harnessing strengths, raising awareness and exploring solutions.

Profiling and Psychometrics

Understanding yourself and others is an essential ingredient of impactful leadership, team and personal effectiveness. Our coaches can use a range of profiling tools and psychometric reports, including Insights Discovery, EQi 2.0 for emotional intelligence and MTQ48 for personal resilience. These tools can underpin your 121 or team coaching sessions and provide meaningful insight into how to get from 'good' to 'great'.

Coachee Feedback

"Executive coaching really made me challenge the way that I approach my work… I was able to talk through some of the challenges that I held as a leader… think about the barriers and plan through what I was going to do and that really helped me then shape my approach and it's really brought a new dimension to some of the relationships I have which have delivered improved outcomes and improved relationships.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does coaching work?

Coaching is based on the fundamental principle that people are the experts in their own problems - this means that most people will generally have the knowledge, skills and expertise they need but are perhaps not able to access this.

When you work with a coach, they will ask you questions and encourage your reflections, which will help you to better understand your issue or opportunity, to explore the barriers and the possibilities and to devise solutions that could work for you.

For coaching to be successful, coachees need to take ownership of the problem and the potential solutions and be active in and in-between coaching sessions.

Who will be my coach?

We have a variety of coaches that you could work with, depending on what type of coaching you are looking for and who you feel you may work best with. When you decide to engage in coaching, we can provide you with coaching profiles for available coaches and can arrange a 'chemistry call' with your preferred coach prior to starting the sessions.

All of our coaches hold their ilm coaching qualification at either level 5 or level 7 and they are required to be active members of a professional coaching body. We also ensure that all coaches attend regular continuous professional development and that they sign up to the Global Code of Ethics for coaching.

What about confidentiality?

Confidentiality is crucial to building strong and trusted coaching relationships and we take this very seriously. At the start of your coaching, we will provide you with an agreement which outlines our responsibilities around confidentiality.

All coaching sessions are confidential, with any paper or electronic notes taken by the coach stored securely and nothing will be shared with anyone outside of the coach/coachee relationship without your permission unless there is reason to believe that there is risk to yourself or someone else that needs to be addressed.

If you are sponsored by your organisation to attend coaching with us, it may be a requirement for us to provide your company with some feedback but we will only ever share what has been agreed by you at the start of the coaching process.

Where and when will the coaching take place?

We aim to be as flexible as we can with sessions and can provide a range of days and times for your coaching. Coaching can be conducted in-person (travel permitting) and online (using video calls). How, when and where the sessions will take place can be agreed in your first session.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different and the challenges that we can explore in coaching can vary, so there is no set amount of time that we would recommend. We do offer single coaching sessions for when you have a small, acute problem to explore, as well as coaching blocks for more transformative or complex work.

Most coachees find 4-6 sessions is about right, although some book a second block if they are working on more complex or multiple issues.

How much does coaching cost?

A 60 minute Developmental Coaching session is £245* and a 90 minute Executive Coaching session is £345*

Because coaching is usually not a one-off, we offer up to 15% discount when you  commit to multiple sessions. Get in touch to find out about our package prices

What can I expect from my first coaching session?

In your first coaching session, you might do some of the following, if you haven't already done so in the chemistry call:
- review and agree the coaching agreement
- explore your reasons for seeking coaching and your overarching goal
- explore what works best for you and what doesn't work
- start exploring the most pressing part of your problem and identifying actions

How can I get the most out of the coaching sessions?

Coaching sessions are only going to be useful if you are actively engaged in the process, so how you prepare for and approach your coaching sessions is important.

Make sure you come to the coaching with an idea of what it is you want to explore, change or solve, or at least knowing what it is that you don't want to experience any more.

Be present in the session - switch off distractions and focus.

Take responsibility for the problem and the actions you decide to take.

Come to your next session ready to feedback and remember that you coach can only support you if you are open and honest.
